PHOENIX—ClearDATA Networks, provider of healthcare cloud computing platform and services announced a new agreement with Henry Schein to offer Dentrix Enterprise as a Software as a Service (SaaS) practice management system.

Under the agreement, Henry Schein’s Practice Solutions division will offer its dental enterprise software, Dentrix Enterprise, as a SaaS practice management system hosted in ClearDATA’s cloud computing platform.

This new capability offers users of Dentrix Enterprise—Henry Schein’s software solution for community health centers, large group and multi-site group practices—the opportunity to log in to a virtual private network (VPN) and use a web browser with active directory authentication to access the software.

In addition, ClearDATA will implement its Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant data backup and disaster recovery services to ensure protected health information (PHI) remains secure and available to any dental practice in the cloud in the event of fire, flood, hurricane, earthquake, electrical surge, power loss, viruses, theft of computers or other issues.

ClearDATA will also provide other cloud-managed services to Henry Schein Practice Solutions.

“Having a SaaS option for Dentrix Enterprise, as well as a strong, cloud-based data backup solution, are important product offerings for our customers,” said Kevin Bunker, president of Henry Schein North America Dental Practice Solutions. “We are excited about the potential this partnership offers our customers to take advantage of the cloud’s many benefits.” –
