Phoenix, Ariz. (Jan. 6, 2015) – Scott Whyte, Senior Vice President of Growth and Innovation for ClearDATA, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the leading authority on the use of health IT to improve healthcare information exchange. Whyte’s term will begin January 2015.

Whyte joins an August group of board members who are executives from premier organizations such as the Mayo Clinic, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, PwC, WellPoint, McKesson and St. Joseph Health System.

Whyte, a veteran health IT leader, has more than 25 years’ experience serving the nation’s largest providers and payers. At ClearDATA, he is responsible for driving innovation, growth and strategic partnerships. Previously, he served as Vice President of IT at Dignity Health, as well as Vice President and CIO at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He also helped build the healthcare practices at Ernst & Young, Siemens Medical Solutions and Cap Gemini. He founded and served as co-chairman of the HL7 Clinical Genomics Special Interest Group whose mission is to develop an international data exchange standard for genomic information.

Mr. Whyte has spoken nationally on topics including accountable care, big data, population health management, health information exchanges and portals. He presented at the ONC Annual Conference, testified before the ONC HIT Policy Committee and the ONC Privacy & Security Tiger Team, and served as Co-Chair of the California state HIE, Cal eConnect, Technology Advisory Group (TAG).
