Entrepreneur magazine unveiled its annual list of the 360 most entrepreneurial companies in the U.S. on Oct. 4, with several healthcare organizations named, including two in the top 10.

The list was compiled based on a selection of more than 50 data points, measuring both objective performance and more subjective qualities such as leadership and impact. The data points were organized into five key “pillars” of entrepreneurship: revenue and customers, management efficiency, innovation, financial evaluation and business valuation.

PatientPop ranked third on the “Entrepreneur 360.” The Santa Monica, Calif.-based software company assists hospitals’ consumerization efforts by automating every aspect of the patient experience, from initial website visit to online appointment booking to post-visit digital outreach.

Close behind, in the fourth spot, is ClearDATA. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, the company offers a healthcare industry-specific cloud computing solution that is reliable, secure and HIPAA-compliant.
