Darin Brannan, President, CEO and Co-Founder

Mr. Brannan has 20 years combined experience as an entrepreneur, public company executive, and venture capitalist. Most recently, Mr. Brannan founded Web.com, a leading Cloud Computing/SaaS provider for the SMB sector. He raised $65M from leading VC firms, growing the company to 700+ employees and achieving a successful IPO.

Previously, he founded Verio, the largest global cloud hosting company in the U.S., raising over $1B in capital, growing the company to 2,500 employees and achieving a successful IPO ($1.2B market cap). Shortly afterwards Verio sold to NTT for $6.1B in cash (the largest U.S. technology acquisition by a foreign company). While at Verio, Mr. Brannan wrote the business plan and helped launch VIANet (an international version of Verio), which also achieved a successful IPO.

Prior to his start-up and executive experience, Mr. Brannan worked at two leading Venture Capital Firms, Norwest Venture Partners and Burr, Egan, Deleage & Company, where he helped form companies and played an active role in evaluating and guiding investments in over a dozen private companies that achieved successful IPO's.

Christopher G. Bowen, Chief Privacy Officer and Founder, CIPP/US, CIPP/IT

Mr. Bowen is an experienced operations, professional services, and compliance executive. He is one of only 3,355 Certified Information Privacy Professionals in the United States (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals and one of only 1,113 worldwide with the CIPP/IT certification. Bowen is responsible for our fanatical compliance, our passion, and our unique culture around privacy and security in delivering world-class healthcare cloud computing services.

Most recently, he was founder and CEO of DirectClarity, a healthcare security and privacy and web application company providing services to 43 hospitals and foundations totaling over 60,000 employees serving over 5.8 million patients per year. Previously, he was Director of Global Market Development for First Solar.

Prior to First Solar, Bowen spent his career in the public sector where he was appointed by the Speaker of the Arizona House to the Arizona Internet Privacy Committee. In this capacity, he served as a top technology advisor to the Arizona House of Representatives where he created Arizona's first legislative Internet broadcast system; and was appointed to numerous high-level government positions in Congress, at Maricopa County and the State of Arizona.

Carl Kunkleman, SVP, Sales and Co-Founder

Mr. Kunkleman has 25 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, diagnostic, medical software and healthcare professional services. He is responsible for developing strategic partner and distribution relationships to further build ClearDATA's market leading position in healthcare cloud computing and information security. Most recently, he launched U.S. Healthcare Compliance, a best-in-class HIPAA security and privacy services company to help physicians, hospitals, and clinics understand how to take advantage of the HITECH Act and address the immediate need for HIPAA security and privacy related work specific to meeting Meaningful Use and information security. ClearDATA acquired his company in 2011.

Previously, he was with Ventana Medical Systems as their VP of Sales, where he grew this VC-backed cancer diagnostics company from a private $6M revenue company to a $90M public company in three years. For the initial 10 years of his career, he worked for Abbot Laboratories, a fortune 100 company, and for TAP Pharmaceuticals, where he held various positions in marketing and business development, launched several pharmaceutical products, and ran a $300M P&L and a team of 120.

Matt Ferrari, Chief Technology Officer

Matt is a skilled technology veteran with more than a decade of success delivering managed hosting and secure cloud-based computing to companies around the world. As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he is responsible for the strategy and execution of ClearDATA's healthcare technology platform and services. In this role he oversees Engineering, Product Management, and back office systems.

Matt's HIPAA and HITECH expertise, combined with his extensive understanding of Cloud Storage and Disaster Recovery, make him uniquely qualified to build healthcare storage environments for organizations that require a high degree of scalability, data security, and regulatory compliance.

Previously, Matt was the Chief Technology Officer at HOSTING.COM. He architected and built the company's fast-growing line of managed cloud products and services at HOSTING.COM for over a decade, focusing largely on driving automation and a consistent customer experience to consumers. Matt has worked to drive strategic partnerships in the Managed Service Provider community, leading to awards for first to market in Replication Services and Disaster Recovery services through VMWare partnerships. Matt helped drive the implementation of standard Product Development methodologies such as Test Driven Development, Agile, SCRUM, and ITIL.

A sought-after keynote speaker, Matt has presented at events such as Executive Summits, Adobe Max, EMCWorld, CFUnited, VMWorld, and Microsoft Hosting Summit. He joins top partners in panel discussions about cloud computing, and nurtures many strategic technology relationships for the organization.

Aaron Barfoot, Chief Financial Officer

Aaron is a veteran of the cloud hosting industry and serves as Chief Financial Officer for ClearDATA. He is responsible for overall financial operations, including corporate finance, treasury, financial planning and analysis, tax, accounting, and other administrative functions including Human Resources.

Previously, Mr. Barfoot was the vice president of finance for Rackspace (RAX) during the company's six year period of significant growth and success in the marketplace. His strategic planning and initiatives helped grow revenue from $362M in 2007 to $1.5B in 2013 while also driving better margins and improving capital returns. He played a key role in acquisitions, provided financial support during the company's $188M IPO, and developed several financial planning systems to maximize resources and staffing.

Prior to his term at Rackspace, Mr. Barfoot held senior positions within finance and human resources at USAA, Transocean Offshore, and Continental Airlines.

Scott Whyte, SVP, Growth & Innovation

Mr. Whyte, a veteran health IT leader, has over 25 years experience serving the nation's largest providers and payers. At ClearDATA, he is responsible for driving innovation, growth and strategic partnerships. Prior to joining ClearDATA, he was an IT Vice President reporting to the CIO at Dignity Health, the fifth largest hospital system in the nation with annual revenue over $11 billion. He oversaw $500+ million in clinical systems budget for over 40 hospitals; his responsibilities included EMRs, Clinical Integration/Accountable Care Organizations, Population Health ARRA, Health Care Reform, Patient Connectivity and Portal Strategies, Imaging, Telemedicine, Workflow and Analytics and Health Information Exchanges (HIEs).

Prior to joining Dignity Health in 2005, Mr. Whyte was Vice President and CIO at Phoenix Children's Hospital (top ten ranked). Previously he spent over 17 years helping build the healthcare practices at Ernst & Young, Siemens Medical Solutions and Capgemini serving hospitals, health insurers and life sciences companies. This included building a health consulting practice of over 70 professionals. He has spoken nationally on topics including accountable care, health information exchanges, portals and genomics.

Mr. Whyte spoke at the ONC Annual Conference, testified before the ONC HIT Policy Committee and the ONC Privacy & Security Tiger Team, and he served as the Co-Chair of the California state HIE, Cal eConnect, Technology Advisory Group (TAG). He founded and served as Co-Chairman of the HL7 Clinical Genomics Special Interest Group which is working with an international team of physicians, biopharmaceutical specialists, bioinformatics specialists and regulators to develop an international data exchange standard for genetic information. He is active in advising early stage health technology companies and private equity investors on health technology.

Brian Raboin, SVP, Operations

Brian has been working in the managed hosting industry since 2001. As the Senior Vice President of Operations, he is responsible for Service Delivery, Service Operations, Data Center Operations and Technical Support at ClearDATA.

Previously, Brian was the Chief Strategy and Customer Officer for HOSTING.com where he led Product Development, HR and Training. During his tenure he created a best-in-class customer experience and a product strategy that fueled consistent growth. In addition, he established an operational excellence and culture that resulted in HOSTING.com being recognized as one of the Top 50 best places to work in America.

Brian has a long history in applying ITIL framework, Agile project methodologies Net Promoter Discipline, and Customer Experience Journey Mapping to transform Operations into enterprise level, customer centric, IT Services organization. He has become an industry thought leader for creating, measuring and improving the customer experience. Brian has been an invited speaker about Customer Experience Transformation at several conferences such as IQPC Call Center Week, Oracle OpenWorld and SaaS University. Brian has a bachelor's degree in History and various other technical and business program certifications from the University of Delaware. Additionally, he is a certified Scrum Master, Certified Net Promoter Associate, and ITIL Foundation Certified.

James Windrow, SVP, Demand Generation

James is a performance driven marketing strategist with more than 15 years of success driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth. As the Senior Vice President of Demand Generation he leads all marketing activity and is responsible for driving demand for ClearDATA's products and services within the healthcare industry.

Previously, James successfully led demand generation for Mitel, a $1B global cloud telecommunications company. He established the company's first digital marketing team, transformed its lead generation strategy, launched its first Cloud UC product line, and grew the number of sales qualified leads (SQL) from fewer than 150/mo to more than 1,200/mo in less than 18 months. In addition, James directly led the creation of Mitel's first successful digital and content marketing strategy, including the design/development of a multi-language global website, marketing automation programs, content syndication programs, and more. Prior to Mitel, James led marketing services for the largest content marketing agency in North America, creating lead generation and digital marketing programs for some of the most recognizable brands in the world including: UPS, Charles Schwab, Nationwide, Aon, and PF Chang's.

Bob Abbott, Board of Directors

Robert is a successful venture capitalist and Silicon Valley tech operator, and an all around great guy. Robert joined NVP (Norwest Venture Partners) in 1998 and is focused on a wide variety of investment categories including mobile, cloud & IT infrastructure. His current investments and board seats include Act-On Software, ClariPhy, ClearDATA, Elemental, mBlox, Mozes and Zenverge. Robert was formerly a member of the board of directors of Brand.net (acquired by Valassis Communications), Covigo (acquired by Symbol Technologies), KACE (acquired by Dell), Occam Networks (acquired by Calix), Resonext Communications (acquired by RF Micro Devices) and SideStep (acquired by Kayak). He has also worked with such companies as Embark (acquired by Princeton Review), Escalate (acquired by GERS), Kayak (Nasdaq: KYAK), mPower (acquired by Morningstar) and Quantum Effect Devices (acquired by PMC-Sierra).

Robert has nine years of operational experience in various roles, from engineering to marketing and product management. Before joining NVP, he was at Silicon Graphics. Prior to Silicon Graphics, Robert worked at IBM-ROLM Systems.

He holds a bachelor of science and a master of science in electrical engineering and an MBA, all from Stanford University.

Joseph B. Volpe III, Managing Director, Merck Global Health Innovation, Global Health Innovation Fund LLC

Joe Volpe is a Managing Director for Merck Global Health Innovation Group overseeing its evergreen Health Technology portion of the fund. His technology, business development and technical engineering background are coupled with an in-depth understanding of emerging technologies in the health care industry. These unique aptitudes provide Mr. Volpe with the foundation and knowledge to enable sound Health IT investments and acquisition.

Mr. Volpe adds strategic value to Merck's core business model by taking a stakeholder-neutral view of the healthcare IT landscape. He focuses on Venturing and M&A efforts with special focus on health data access and liberation, health informatics and analytics and value-added HIT productivity enablers. To date Mr. Volpe has lead investments and/or acquisitions in companies such as Liaison Technologies, Preventice, MiHealth, Physicians Interactive, Medivo, Remedy Informatics and ClearDATA.

A well-respected industry professional, he has presented at venture oriented speaker panels, and conferences including the Microsoft CIO Summit, HIMSS and numerous venture forum conferences.

Mr. Volpe presently sits on numerous boards including Physicians Interactive, Liaison, Preventice, Medivo, HealthSense, ClearDATA and Mihealth.

Enrico Petrillo, MD, Managing Director, Excel Venture Management

Dr. Petrillo has been advising and building successful Healthcare, Technology and IT companies for over 20 years.

Dr. Petrillo's experience as a venture investor, healthcare consultant, entrepreneur, and physician has been instrumental in the success of Excel Venture Management LLC (EVM) as well as CB Health Ventures LLC (CBHV), two funds which he co-founded.

He has initiated investments in and been a Board Member/ Observer of: BioTrove (Acquired by Life Technologies - LIFE), Biocious (Acquired by Agilent Corp - A) ; Quovadx (acquired by Healthvision), eBenX (acquired by SHPS), Morphotek (acquired by Eisai Co. Ltd Japan), GeneOhm (acquired by Becton Dickinson - BDX ), Exact (EXAS), MedVentive (acquired by McKesson - MCK), Aileron Therapeutics, Aventura, ClearDATA, Lantos Technologies, IlluminOss, PathoGenetix, Saladax BioMedical, and ShapeUp.

Previously he was a partner at Fletcher Spaght, a Boston-based consulting firm spun out of the Boston Consulting Group.

He is a current advisor to the United States Department of Defense, Office of the Secretary and affiliated agencies.

In addition to being a full time partner at Excel, Dr. Petrillo is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University.

Dr. Petrillo earned both his Undergraduate and M.D. degrees from Tufts University, and completed his Internship and Residency at Harvard-affiliated hospitals in Boston.
